Silk Road Cycling tour (Kyrgyzstan+Kazakhstan+Uzbekistan)
Tour at a glance
The tour starts in Bishkek and finishes in Almaty (duration around 10 days) or in Tashkent ( total 20 days). The route traverses majestic Tian-Shan mountains with mountain passes over 3,000 meters. You will cycle through diverse terrain ranging from mountain valleys with alpine lakes, glaciers, waterfalls and forests to desert areas with beautiful canyons and moon-like landscapes. In Kyrgyzstan you will cycle to Son-Kol Lake- a chance for you to learn about the nomad culture of Kyrgyz herders and sleep in a real yurt. Further the route will take you along the coast of Issyk-Kul Lake- the second biggest alpine lake in the world after Titicaca in Peru. After crossing the border you will cycle through immense Kazakh steppes and desert-like areas with Charyn Canyon. You will stay in the village of Saty -a true oasis with 2 stunning alpine lakes. After a short transfer you will explore the city of Almaty- the former capital of Kazakhstan and the most modern and vibrant city of Central Asia. You will continue by plane to Tashkent and will cycle through authentic mountain villages, through Uzbek vineyards and around Charvak reservoir- a true gem in the mountains near Tashkent. The cycling will take you father to Zaamin mountain resort, the ancient petroglyphs of Sarmysh and the famous Aidarkul Lake where you will have a chance to ride a camel in the desert and spend a night in yurt listening to a local musician playing and singing for you. The trip will continue to the ancient cities of Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva. You will learn a lot about these legendary cities from local Uzbek guides. The tour ends in Tashkent
